Gardenia cornuta

Gardenia cornuta, often referred to as the Horned Gardenia or Natal Gardenia, is a magnificent, evergreen shrub native to South Africa. Revered for its luscious dark green, glossy foliage and wonderfully fragrant flowers, it can grow to a height of 2 to 3 metres with a similar spread, presenting a round, bushy silhouette. The flowers start as creamy white trumpets that gradually turn a rich, golden yellow, their long protruding styles giving the plant its common name. Gardenia cornuta thrives in well-drained, acidic soil, under full sun to partial shade. It is often used as a specimen plant for its attractive year-round foliage and fragrant flowers but can serve as an effective screen plant or informal hedge.
