Abutilon Red

Abutilon Red is a delightful variety of the Flowering Maple, celebrated for its red, bell-shaped flowers that appear from spring through to autumn. These charming flowers are complemented by the plant’s lush, green, maple-like foliage, making it a versatile choice for adding gentle colour and texture to the garden.

Perfect for mixed borders, patio pots, or as a feature in cottage, subtropical, or wildlife-friendly gardens. Thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soil with regular moisture. Allow approximately 50 cm spacing between plants if used in garden beds to encourage healthy growth.

At maturity, Abutilon Red grows to a manageable size of 1–2 metres in height and width, making it suitable for both smaller gardens and larger landscapes. Light pruning after flowering helps to maintain its shape and promote further flowering.
