Agapanthus Streamline is a compact, evergreen variety with soft blue, trumpet-shaped flowers that appear in abundance on slender stems during summer. Its narrow, strap-like green foliage forms a neat and tidy clump, making it ideal for small gardens, borders, or container planting. The subtle colouring and compact form make Streamline a versatile and reliable choice for a wide range of garden styles.
Perfect for modern, coastal, or cottage gardens, Streamline thrives in full sun and well-drained soils. It is drought-tolerant once established and requires minimal maintenance. Space plants 30–40 cm apart for a compact yet lush display.
Mature size: Grows up to 50–60 cm in height and 40–50 cm in width, forming a dense, clumping habit.
Trimming: Cut back foliage in late autumn or winter once it has died back naturally. Remove any yellowing or damaged leaves during the growing season to maintain a tidy appearance.
Deadheading: Remove spent flower stems after flowering to encourage further blooms and prevent self-seeding, especially if managing invasive tendencies.
Fertilising: Feed with a balanced, slow-release fertiliser in spring to promote healthy growth and flowering. Avoid over-fertilising, as this can reduce flower production.
Watering: Water regularly during the establishment phase and dry periods. Established Agapanthus are drought-tolerant but will benefit from occasional deep watering during hot weather.
Pest Control: Check for slugs, snails, and mealybugs. Remove pests manually or use suitable deterrents.
Disease Management: Agapanthus are generally disease-resistant but may develop root rot in poorly draining soil. Ensure soil is well-draining and avoid overwatering.
