Carpodetus serratus Prostrata

Carpodetus serratus Prostrata is a ground-covering variant of the classic Carpodetus serratus, also known as the marble leaf or putaputaweta. This plant is appreciated for its sprawling growth habit and the unique, marbled patterns on its foliage. The leaves are serrated, giving the plant a slightly edgy, textured appearance. Being a prostrate form, it spreads across the ground, making it an excellent choice for those looking to cover large areas or prevent soil erosion. It thrives best in well-drained soil and can tolerate a range of light conditions, from full sun to partial shade. Though its growth is generally slow, it eventually achieves a mature spread of around 2 metres. Its year-round greenery provides a consistent dash of colour to the landscape, while its clusters of small, white flowers offer an additional ornamental aspect in the spring.
