Griselinia Broadway Mint - Instant Hedging

A great way to create a hedge without waiting for it to grow. This is for a 1m length of hedging that is 1.2m high, which consists of two plants tightly clipped.

Griselinia littoralis Broadway Mint is an evergreen New Zealand native. This native has foliage that is almost seductive. Thick, lush, lime leaves make this a great plant for a number of situations. Is very hardy and can also tolerate coastal conditions. Makes a spectacular hedge. If un-clipped will grow to 4m in height, but with one to two trims a year you can tame this beast to a neat hedge at any desired height. To create a hedge plant them at 0.7m to 1m apart. The closer you go the faster and tighter it will be.

Trimming: Regularly trim Griselinia Broadway Mint to maintain its shape and encourage bushy growth. Prune in late winter or early spring, removing any dead or damaged branches.

Fertilising: Apply a balanced fertiliser in early spring to support healthy growth. An additional feed in midsummer can be beneficial.

Watering: Ensure consistent watering during the establishment phase, typically the first year after planting. Once established, water during extended dry periods, particularly in summer.

Pest Control: Watch for aphids and scale insects. If found, treat with insecticidal soap or horticultural oil.

Disease Management: Keep an eye out for root rot and leaf spot. Ensure good drainage to prevent root rot and remove any affected leaves promptly to control leaf spot. If necessary, use a fungicide as per the instructions.
