Colocasia Black Coral - Elephant Ear

Colocasia Black Coral is a large but easy-to-grow house plant that can be planted outdoors but does require protection from frost and sheltered from strong winds. Tubers with glossy downward pointing black foliage that resemble Elephant Ears may produce yellowish-green spathe and spadix flowers. At full size, they will reach 1m tall and 1m wide with runners that appear close to the mother plant. If you grow this plant in containers, make sure it is a very large one and be sure to give it a consistent supply of moisture. This plant will drink up all you can give it and can even grow directly in shallow water.
