Podocarpus parlatorei - Field-Grown

Podocarpus parlatorei, also known as the South American Yew or Pino Parana, is an evergreen conifer with small, leathery, dark green leaves that grow in an upright, pyramidal form.

It prefers well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade. Once established, it is drought tolerant. 

With its dense growth habit and timeless charm, Podocarpus parlatorei serves as a compelling specimen tree, bringing year-round interest to your garden. It can also be utilised to establish a high privacy screen or hedge, making it an ideal choice for creating secluded areas.

Upon reaching maturity, Podocarpus parlatorei can achieve a height of 15-20 metres. However, with regular pruning, it can be maintained at a smaller size.

Field-grown plants are grown directly in open fields, enabling their roots to spread and develop naturally, resulting in larger size, established root systems, and increased resilience. When transporting these plants, hessian, a coarse fabric made from natural fibres like jute, is commonly used to wrap their roots, providing protection during transportation and handling.
