Liriodendron tulipifera - Field-Grown

This is our field-grown Liriodendron tulipifera, often known as the Tulip Tree or American Tulip Tree, currently standing at a height of 250cm-200cm. It is a fast-growing deciduous tree with vibrant green foliage and unique, tulip-like flowers. 

It can tolerate partial shade but flowers best in full sun and adapts well to different soil types as long as it is well-drained.

It can provide a dramatic focal point in larger gardens due to its significant size and unique flowers in late spring and early summer. Its large leaves provide shade during the summer months and in the autumn, the foliage turns golden-yellow, adding a different colour dimension to your garden.

At maturity, it can reach heights of 20-30 metres, making it a magnificent presence. With its fast growth rate, it quickly reaches its mature size, providing instant impact and gratification.

Field-grown plants are grown directly in open fields, enabling their roots to spread and develop naturally, resulting in larger size, established root systems, and increased resilience. When transporting these plants, hessian, a coarse fabric made from natural fibres like jute, is commonly used to wrap their roots, providing protection during transportation and handling.
