Cryptomeria japonica - Field-Grown

Cryptomeria japonica, commonly known as the Japanese Cedar, serves as a superb shelter tree. This tall, imposing evergreen displays rapid growth, establishing itself with a distinct pyramidal shape. During the winter months, its foliage exhibits a vibrant red-bronze hue. Notably, the tree produces soft, aromatic timber, which is also resistant to insects. On reaching full maturity, it can stand as tall as 20 metres.

Field-grown plants are grown directly in open fields, enabling their roots to spread and develop naturally, resulting in larger size, established root systems, and increased resilience. When transporting these plants, hessian, a coarse fabric made from natural fibres like jute, is commonly used to wrap their roots, providing protection during transportation and handling.
