Juniperus conferta Blue Pacific is a useful evergreen conifer for ground cover.  Growing to just 0.1 to 0.5m in height it forms mats of grey-green prickly, weed-supressing foliage between 1.5 and 2.5m wide after 5-10 years.  Does well in full sun.
