Metasequoia glyptostroboides - Bare-Rooted

Metasequoia glyptostroboides, commonly known as the Dawn Redwood, is a fast-growing deciduous conifer known for its striking, feathery foliage and impressive stature. Its bright green, fern-like leaves turn a warm, coppery-bronze in autumn before shedding for winter, revealing an attractive, reddish-brown bark that provides winter interest.

Ideal as a specimen or feature tree in large landscapes. It thrives in full sun and prefers moist, well-drained soils but can tolerate a range of soil types, including clay and occasionally waterlogged conditions. This tree suits various garden styles, including woodland, contemporary, and traditional designs.

This tree requires regular watering during its establishment period and benefits from consistent moisture, especially during dry spells. Known for its rapid growth, the Dawn Redwood is relatively low-maintenance once established and can provide significant visual impact within a few years.

Mature Size: 20-30 meters tall and 8-10 meters wide.

What is a bare-rooted tree?

Bare-rooted trees are deciduous trees that have been grown in the ground and are dug up when they've become dormant in the winter. The soil is shaken from their roots and they are bundled up with their roots packed in moist material to prevent dehydration during transport.
