Magnolia Wild Cat - Bare-Rooted

Magnolia Wild Cat is a distinctive variety of magnolia, celebrated for its unique and striking flowers. This deciduous tree features large, white flowers with a hint of blush pink, creating an eye-catching display in any garden.

Magnolia Wild Cat is perfect for garden enthusiasts looking to add a touch of elegance and beauty to their landscape. Its stunning flowers are ideal for focal points in garden designs, suiting various styles from cottage gardens to formal gardens. The dark green foliage provides a beautiful contrast to the delicate flowers, enhancing its overall ornamental appeal.

This magnolia thrives in areas with full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Ensure the soil remains consistently moist, especially during dry spells, to support healthy growth and prolific flowering. Allow adequate spacing for its mature size, typically reaching 4-6 metres in height and 3-4 metres in width, ensuring it has room to flourish.

In the garden, Magnolia Wild Cat is best planted in sheltered positions, protected from strong winds that can damage the delicate flowers. It begins to flower from an early age and has a long flowering period from late winter to spring.

What is a bare-rooted tree?

Bare-rooted trees are deciduous trees that have been grown in the ground and are dug up when they've become dormant in the winter. The soil is shaken from their roots and they are bundled up with their roots packed in moist material to prevent dehydration during transport.

What are the benefits?

  • Less packaging and plastic waste involved in growing process and transportation.
  • Plant has more root mass as the roots have not been constricted and twisted by a pot.
  • They are easier to carry and plant as they are extremely lightweight.
  • Bare-rooted trees are cheaper as they do not come with soil and pots.
  • Planting bare-rooted trees in the winter follows the natural pattern of the seasons.
