Acer Garnet - Bare-Rooted

Acer palmatum dissectum Garnet has finely dissected foliage and a cascading, elegant growth habit. Its leaves offer a rich tapestry of colour, emerging as a vibrant garnet-red in spring and deepening to a more intense, almost burgundy shade by autumn. The unique lace-like texture of the foliage makes this variety a standout in any garden.

Ideal for adding depth and contrast in both traditional and contemporary garden designs, Garnet thrives in partial to full shade, where its colours remain vibrant and protected from scorching. It prefers moist, well-drained soil with a slightly acidic pH. This variety's compact and weeping form makes it perfect for small garden spaces, rock gardens, or as a stunning container specimen.

Acer Garnet reaches a mature height and spread of about 2-3m.

What is a bare-rooted tree?

Bare-rooted trees are deciduous trees that have been grown in the ground and are dug up when they've become dormant in the winter. The soil is shaken from their roots and they are bundled up with their roots packed in moist material to prevent dehydration during transport.

What are the benefits?

  • Less packaging and plastic waste involved in growing process and transportation.
  • Plant has more root mass as the roots have not been constricted and twisted by a pot.
  • They are easier to carry and plant as they are extremely lightweight.
  • Bare-rooted trees are cheaper as they do not come with soil and pots.
  • Planting bare-rooted trees in the winter follows the natural pattern of the seasons.
